Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Indirect Media collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It follows South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors from Europe and the UK, the GDPR.

1. Who we are

Indirect Media (Pty) Ltd (“Indirect Media”, “we”, “us”), registration number 2019/161686/07, of 1301 Whistletree, Queenswood, Pretoria, 0186, is the responsible party for the personal information described here. Our Information Officer is Christiaan Mostert, who you can reach at digital@indirectmedia.co.za.

2. What we collect

  • When you enquire: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), company, the details of your project, your budget range and how you found us.
  • When you test your website: the website address you enter and, if you ask for the PDF report, your name and email address.
  • When you browse: with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies collect information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser, and an approximate location from your IP address. See our Cookie Policy.
  • When you email or work with us: the contents of our messages and the details we need to quote, deliver and invoice.

We do not ask for special personal information (such as health or religious beliefs) on this website, and this website is not meant for children under 18.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal (to take steps you asked for before a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries).
  • To deliver the work you hire us for and to invoice it (to perform our contract with you).
  • To understand how the website is used and whether our ads work (only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
  • To keep the website and our forms secure and free of spam (our legitimate interest).
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them or are an existing client, and every marketing email lets you unsubscribe.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only what they need:

  • our website host, which stores the website and form entries;
  • our email and office software providers;
  • Google (Google Analytics), if you allow analytics cookies;
  • Meta (the Meta Pixel), if you allow advertising cookies. Meta may also use this information for its own purposes under its own privacy policy;
  • Vimeo, when you choose to play one of our videos.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

5. Information sent outside South Africa

Some of our providers, including Google and Meta, process information in other countries, such as the United States. We only use providers that are bound by data protection terms which give your information a level of protection similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Client and invoicing records: as long as tax and company law require (usually 5 years).
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

7. How we protect it

We use secure (HTTPS) connections, limit who can access form entries, keep our software up to date and protect our forms against spam. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold information about you and give you a copy;
  • correct or delete it;
  • stop using it, or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you can also ask us to restrict processing or move your information to another provider. Email digital@indirectmedia.co.za with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or, in Europe and the UK, to your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top.
